Bike hire costs $2.00 for the first 15 minutes (this is the minimum cost) and $0.10c per minute thereafter.
You do not need to set a time limit when you hire the bike, you can simply use it for as long as you choose (up to a maximum of 24 hours) and only pay for the time you use.
As an example, the bike will cost $2.00 for 15 minutes use. If you choose to return the bike before the end of the 15 minutes, you will pay $2.00. If you choose to keep the bike for 20 minutes, you will be charged $2.00 for the first 15 minutes + $0.10c for each of the 5 minutes after to make a total charge of $2.50.
The maximum cost for 24 hours bike hire is $144.50.
Yes! West Australian law states that bike helmets must be worn at ALL times when riding a bicycle. You can be fined a $50 penalty for not wearing a helmet. Helmets greatly reduce your risk of serious injury in the case of an accident. Please note that RAC does not accept any responsibility in the event that no helmets are available at the time of your ride.
A lock is available in the basket of your bike – the combination for this lock will be inside your helmet. These lock combinations will be changed regularly throughout the trial. You may also text 0413 343 305 and the combination can also be sent in a text message.
